Greetings everyone. The good vibe around the US Postal in the first days of S53 can be easily noticed. We had a normal begin but we have a feeling of positivism that was missing since S50. Leonards Podnieks is having a second youth, scoring lots of top 10's in the last races, and bringing more than 20k in cash so far, ''I don't know, but I think the previous training before the first race of the season gave me endurance, I'm still looking that result but I can't complain, I wasn't expecting to be at this level right now,'' admitted Podnieks with a big smile.
Manager Armstrong is really happy, when he received a notification from New Zealand, Max Douglas was selected to debut in the National Team to help the All Blacks in the first WTA race in Russia. ''It's a nice feeling when one of your riders joins the National Team, even thought Max wasn't in a good condition to race, due to his training,'' said Armstrong. But when good news knock your door, it simply gets better and better.
The management set as one of the goals of the season to have another sign up at japanese Tour of the Sanreizan. Podnieks should be a team mate there, because finally the team secretly started the training of Sylváin Kabbah and despite he may not win the SC, it will be a good experience in a real field.
''Yes, my prayers were heard, two nights ago the manager called me. He was serious and told me to follow him. I smiled when I saw that door, the room of training... finally my moment came,'' confessed Kabbah. Only a few points (12) for low cost (5400$) but after D17 things will get rougher for him.
However, not all is great news. Jacob Hughson got injured again (really? with a sarcasm tone). But we can't blame him, he hasn't rest properly in the last days. No one cares about the irish, so it doesn't count as bad news...
In the near future, we are planning to give some rest to Max, so he can race next week a new cobble race that surely we can expect a result, unless the OCM gods decided that we ran out of luck. His debut in World Tour racing against top cobblers like Chris Dekker, Gracjan Uchman and Vidar Kleven was a different experience for him, ''They are incredible. They have another pace, it will be good to race against them from time to time, so I can learn something from the best cobblers,'' said Douglas about his first WT race.
And this was a new update from the cleanest team in OCM, don't blame us, we can't avoid it ;)
